BRIONI is a sort of legend. The name comes from the Brioni's Archipelago", Istrian Coast (at that time, Istria was Italy), a paradise of jet set in the early 1900s.
The first Brioni tailorshop was opened by Nazareno Fonticoli and Gaetano Savini in 1945, in Rome, Via Barberini, the "core" of "Dolce Vita". In 1952, at Palazzo Pitti (Florence) Brioni innovated the fashion show concept: a man and his suits for the first time on a catwalk...
Since then, actors (Clark Gable, Pierce Brosnan, Daniel Craig, Richard Gere), politicians (Nelson Mandela, Putin, Obama, Kofi Annan, Giorgio Napolitano...): different men with unique style.
In 2012, Brioni was acquired by the French Kering (PPR group) which keeps maintaining Italian core productions.
