HERITAGE: Since 1912, Bolognaise School of Shoes, Florence craftsmanship for leather
.B QUALITY TIP: Harmony of external design combined with perfect foot anatomy of internals
Since 1912, when it was founded by master cobblers brothers Ettore and Enea, Mantellassi has stood for the highest standards of Italian craftsmanship, realizing shoes for any and every occasion and combining style and comfort.
The main feature, perfectly matching B. Quality issues, is external harmony of proportions joined with internal fitness. External proportions mean distance among stitches, welt width, heel height and length, the model of toe and the harmonic relationship among them.
Internal fitness comes from the use of established form and patterns according to foot anatomy. They come from great Mantellassi heritage. Effectively, the male foot accounts for 28 bones, 27 articulations, 100 ligaments, 23 muscles and a very capillar nervous system. So great design for the exterior means nothing if interior is not comfortable.
That's why the famous italian actor Marcello Mastroianni wore a pair of classic Sutor Mantellassi shoes as he left his footprints on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1965.
Sutor Mantellassi and street-style photographer Scott Schuman of The Sartorialist site teamed up to create wonderful collections
